Overview

The Lead Housekeeper is responsible forthe daily housekeeping operations within sites/facilities, ensuring a high standard of cleanliness and maintenance in all areas 

The Lead Housekeeper provides exemplary service in a manner consistent with the values and mission of the Castle Group.  He or she performs all responsibilities while demonstrating outstanding customer service skills representative of Castle Royal Service. 

Responsibilities

  • Perform routine cleaning tasks, including vacuuming, sweeping, mopping, dusting, and sanitizing. 
  • Inspect common areas and hallways to ensure they meet cleanliness standards. 
  • Maintain cleaning and equipment inventory, ordering new supplies as needed while ensuring all inventory purchases have proper approval from the Maintenance/Housekeeping Supervisor and/or Property Manager  
  • May support supervision of housekeeping staff, assign daily tasks, and ensure completion of cleaning schedules. 
  • Ensure that all safety regulations are followed by teammates, including proper use of PPE’s 
  • Assists with hurricane preparation before, during, and after a storm.   
  • Help train new housekeeping staff and provide ongoing guidance and performance feedback. 
  • Coordinate with the Housekeeping/Maintenance Supervisor and/or Property Manager regarding special cleaning requests. 
  • Respond to resident inquiries related to housekeeping and cleanliness in a timely manner.
  • Assists with move in/outs as move monitor. 
  • Other duties as assigned by direct supervisor.  

Supervisory Responsibilities 

  • May help supervise 1 or more teammates 
  • Carry out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with Castle’s policies and applicable laws.   
  • Responsibilities may include interviewing, hiring, and training, developing and mentoring employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems. 

Qualifications

Education and Experience 

  • High school diploma or equivalency required.   
  • 1+ years as a Houskeeper or similar position 
  • Prior experience managing and leading a team 
  • Knowledge and understanding of Material Safety Data Sheet (MSDS) required 
  • Strong customer service, communication, and interpersonal skills to help create effective customer-focused relationships with all levels within the organization.  
  • Able to work under tight deadlines and use time effectively based on key priorities. 
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills 
  • Intermediate command of computer hardware/software, specifically Microsoft Office Suite. 

 

Skills and Abilities 

  • May operate mechanical and electrical equipment (i.e. vacuum, mops, etc.) 
  • Strong customer service, communication, and interpersonal skills to help create effective customer-focused relationships with all levels within the organization.  
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail. 
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.  
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. 
  • Able to work under tight deadlines and use time effectively based on key priorities. 
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and to delegate them when appropriate. 
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software. 
  • Communicate, receive, and exchange ideas and information by means of spoken and written. 
  • Ability to act with integrity, professionalism, and confidentiality.

  • Able to work under pressure, maintain composure and utilize good judgment during emergency/difficult and stressful situations. 
  • Ability to lift 40 lbs. following appropriate safety procedures.   
  • Ability to: 
  • work in an upright standing position for long periods of time 
  • crawl in small and tight spaces 
  • work in different environmental working conditions (e.g. heat, cold, wind, rain).  
  • walk and climb stairs 
  • stoop and bend 
  • Extensive use of fingers for typing and visual use of the computer monitor.  
  • Handle, grasp, feel objects and equipment.  
  • Reach with hands and arms.  
  • Ability to quickly and easily navigate property/buildings is required to meet the job functions.  
  • Repeat various motions with wrists, hands and fingers.  
  • Ability to detect auditory and/or visual emergency alarms 
  • May be required to perform work outdoors during all seasons   
  • Ability to climb ladders and work at heights above ground level. 
  • Ability to hear, understand and respond appropriately to verbal requests made in person and over the telephone. 
  • Visual ability correctable to 20/20. 
  • Ability to respond verbally in an understandable, professional manner in person and over the telephone. 
  • May be required to travel for training sessions off-site  
  • Ability to work extended hours and weekends if needed.
