Overview

We are seeking a creative, energetic, and detail-oriented Lifestyle Director to lead our lifestyle and social programming initiatives. This individual will be responsible for planning, coordinating, and executing a wide array of events, classes, and activities that enhance the quality of life for our residents and reflect the dynamic, and community-driven spirit.

 

The Lifestyle Director also provides exemplary service in a manner consistent with the values and mission of the Castle Group. He or she performs all responsibilities while demonstrating outstanding customer service skills representative of Castle Royal Service as it relates to this function. This includes working interdepartmentally, as well as, with our external customers.

Responsibilities

(May include some or all of the following as applicable)

 

Event Planning & Execution

  • Develop and implement a comprehensive calendar of events, programs, and classes that cater to a 55+ active adult audience.

  • Coordinate logistics for community-wide events, including social gatherings, holiday celebrations, educational seminars, concerts, and fitness-related activities.

  • Partner with local vendors, performers, and instructors to deliver engaging and enriching experiences.

  • Attend and oversee events to ensure smooth execution and resident satisfaction.

Resident Engagement

  • Actively solicit feedback from residents through surveys, suggestion boxes, and advisory committees to continuously improve offerings.

  • Build strong relationships with residents and foster a sense of community and belonging.

  • Work closely with the Social Committee and Board of Directors to align programming with community goals.

  • Must be comfortable speaking in front of a crowd – giving reports on the community social events at board of directors’ meetings and also introducing events.

Marketing & Communication

  • Design and distribute promotional materials such as flyers, newsletters, community calendars, and digital communications.

  • Maintain event records, photo archives, and resident participation data.

  • Ensure timely and effective communication through various platforms (email blasts, bulletin boards, website updates, etc.).

  • Prepare articles for various associations publications, including E-blasts.

Budgeting & Administration

  • Prepare and manage the annual lifestyle budget with attention to cost-effectiveness and value.

  • Oversee purchasing and vendor payments for lifestyle programming, ensuring alignment with approved financial practices.

  • Maintain records of all contracts, invoices, and event-related expenditures.

  • Prepare report to be included in the various management reports.

Amenity & Facility Coordination

  • Ensure event spaces and amenity areas are reserved, set up, and maintained appropriately before, during, and after events.

  • Collaborate with the General Manager and facilities team to ensure clubhouse and amenity functionality supports lifestyle programming needs.

  • Ensures all safety precautions are followed while performing duties.

  • Any other responsibilities as assigned by supervisor.

Qualifications

Education/Training/Certifications/Licenses:

Bachelor's degree in Hospitality, Event Management, Recreation, Communications, or a related field (or equivalent experience).

Experience/Knowledge/Skills:

Minimum 3 years of experience in event planning, lifestyle programming, or hospitality (experience with a 55+ or HOA community strongly preferred). Strong customer service, communication and interpersonal skills required. Effective written and verbal communication. Proficiency in Microsoft Office, Canva, Constant Contact, and community management platforms. 

Computer literacy: 

Intermediate command of computer hardware/software is required; specifically, knowledge of Microsoft Windows, Word, Excel, Power Point, Publisher and Outlook. Experience in maintaining a website is desired.

Language requirements:

Multiple language fluency is desirable, but not necessary.

Travel and availability requirements:

Ability to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed for events. May be required to travel for training sessions off-site on an ad-hoc basis. May be occasionally required to cover for staff at other communities within a reasonable commuting distance if needed. 

Physical Requirements:

Ability to lift 50 lbs.; Work in an upright standing or sitting position for long periods of time. Handle, grasp and lift objects and packages; extensive use of fingers for typing and visual use of the computer monitor. Reach with hands and arms. Communicate, receive and exchange ideas and information by means of the spoken and written word. Ability to quickly and easily navigate the property/building as required to meet the job functions. Complete all required forms.

Working Conditions:

The majority of work will be completed indoors in a temperature-controlled environment with little to moderate noise levels. May require outdoor site visits on an occasional basis.
