The Pickleball & Tennis Instructor is responsible for providing pickleball and tennis instruction to residents and guests of the community association. The role involves developing individual and group pickleball and tennis programs for players of all skill levels. The Pickleball & Tennis Pro fosters a motivating and supportive environment, promoting the enjoyment of the sport while helping participants improve their skills, fitness, and overall game performance. The Pickleball & Tennis Instructor provides exemplary service consistent with the Castle Group's values and mission. As a representative of Castle Royal Service, he or she performs all responsibilities while demonstrating outstanding customer service skills.
· Provide individual and group lessons tailored to the skill level and goals of residents and guests.
· Organize and conduct workshops and community tournaments for residents.
· Develop training programs and drills to help players improve technical skills, tactics, fitness, and mental game.
· Ensure that all court activities are conducted in a safe manner, following rules and community guidelines.
· Serve as a role model for good sportsmanship, encouraging fair play and respect for others on the court.
· Maintain pickleball and tennis courts, report any court or equipment maintenance needs, and ensure the availability of necessary equipment.
· Engage with residents to promote the community’s programs, encouraging participation and fostering a sense of community.
· Stay current on teaching techniques, strategies, and industry trends, applying the latest in coaching and lessons.
Assist in the planning and execution of pickleball and tennis-related community events, including socials and tournaments.
· Other duties and responsibilities as assigned.

Qualifications

Education and Experience
· High school diploma or equivalent required.
· Current certification from a nationally recognized racquet sports organization (e.g., PPA, USPA, USTA).
· Minimum of 1 year of experience coaching, preferably within a community, club, or recreational facility setting.
· Experience working with players of varying skill levels, including youth, adults, and older adults.
Skills and Abilities
· Strong technical knowledge of pickleball and tennis techniques, rules, and strategies.
· Excellent communication skills, with the ability to motivate and inspire players of all ages.
· Ability to assess the strengths and weaknesses of players and adjust coaching methods accordingly.
· Demonstrated ability to organize and lead group activities and tournaments.
· High level of professionalism and strong customer service skills.
· Ability to create a fun and inclusive atmosphere while maintaining a focus on skill improvement
· Basic computer skills, including proficiency with scheduling software and organizing events.

· Able to work under pressure, maintain composure, and utilize good judgment during emergency/difficult and stressful situations.
· Ability to lift 15 lbs. following appropriate safety procedures.
· Ability to:
o Stand, walk, and coach for extended periods.
o Demonstrate strokes, movements, and drills.
o Reach with hands and arms.
o Repeat various motions with wrists, hands, and fingers.
o stoop and bend.
o Hear, understand, and respond appropriately to verbal requests made in person and over the telephone.
o Respond verbally in an understandable, professional manner in person and over the telephone.
o Must be able to lift and move court equipment and gear as necessary (up to 30 lbs).
o Visual and auditory ability to ensure player safety and respond to emergencies on the court.
o Must be able to work flexible hours, including weekends, early mornings, and evenings as required by the community’s needs.
o Ability to work extended hours and weekends if needed.
