Overview

The Housekeeping Supervisor is responsible for overseeing and coordinating the daily operations of the housekeeping teammates to ensure site/facility is clean and well maintained 

The Housekeeping Supervisor provides exemplary service in a manner consistent with the values and mission of the Castle GroupHe or she performs all responsibilities while demonstrating outstanding customer service skills representative of Castle Royal Service. 

Responsibilities

Essential Duties and Responsibilities 

  • Oversee the day-to-day operations of the housekeeping teammates, including creating/updating schedules, reviewing/approving payroll and assigning duties 
  • Ensure all common areas are properly cleaned to meet site standards 
  • Review, audit and update weekly checklists  
  • Ensure that all safety and sanitary regulations are followed by teammates, including proper use of PPE’s  
  • Manage inventories and restocking of cleaning supplies and PPE’s 
  • Ensure proper coverage of staff and willing to work open shifts including weekends, as needed. 
  • Assists with handling of complaints in a timely and professional manner, escalating to Property Manager as needed  
  • Assists with hurricane preparation before, during and after a storm.  
  • Ensure direct reports complete all required training, both in-person and online, required for their position. 
  • Perform cleaning duties as needed  
  • Other duties and responsibilities as assigned.

 

Supervisory Responsibilities 

  • Directly manage team of 1 or more teammates  
  • Carry out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with Castle’s policies and applicable laws.   
  • Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training, developing and mentoring employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.

Education and Experience 

  • High school diploma or equivalency required.   
  • 2+ years as a Houskeeper or similar position 
  • Prior experience managing and leading a team 
  • Knowledge and understanding of Material Safety Data Sheet (MSDS) required 
  • Strong customer service, communication, and interpersonal skills to help create effective customer-focused relationships with all levels within the organization.  
  • Able to work under tight deadlines and use time effectively based on key priorities. 
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills 
  • Intermediate command of computer hardware/software, specifically Microsoft Office Suite. 

 

Skills and Abilities 

  • May operate mechanical and electrical equipment (i.e. vacuum, mops, etc.) 
  • Maintains a safe and secure work environment throughout the building/property(s).  
  • Ensures all safety precautions are followed and proper usage of PPE’s while performing duties.  
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.  
  • Excellent interpersonal, negotiation, and conflict resolution skills. 
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail. 
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. 
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and to delegate them when appropriate. 
  • Ability to act with integrity, professionalism, and confidentiality. 
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software. 
  • Communicate, receive and exchange ideas and information by means of spoken and written.

  • Able to work under pressure, maintain composure and utilize good judgement during emergency/difficult and stressful situations. 
  • Ability to lift 40 lbs. following appropriate safety procedures.   
  • Ability to: 
  • work in an upright standing position for long periods of time 
  • crawl in small and tight spaces 
  • work in different environmental working conditions (e.g. heat, cold, wind, rain).  
  • walk and climb stairs 
  • stoop and bend 
  • Extensive use of fingers for typing and visual use of the computer monitor.  
  • Handle, grasp, feel objects and equipment.  
  • Reach with hands and arms.  
  • Ability to quickly and easily navigate property/buildings is required to meet the job functions.  
  • Repeat various motions with wrists, hands and fingers.  
  • Ability to detect auditory and/or visual emergency alarms 
  • May be required to perform work outdoors during all seasons   
  • Ability to climb ladders and work at heights above ground level. 
  • Ability to hear, understand and respond appropriately to verbal requests made in person and over the telephone. 
  • Visual ability correctable to 20/20. 
  • Ability to respond verbally in an understandable, professional manner in person and over the telephone. 
  • May be required to travel for training sessions off-site  
  • Ability to work extended hours and weekends if needed.
